Context

Adult ADHD diagnosis is not the same as childhood assessment

Most adults seeking a diagnosis spent decades developing strategies to manage what they didn't yet have a name for. Those strategies change the clinical picture — and require a different assessment approach.

Decades of compensation mask the symptoms

Adults with undiagnosed ADHD often develop sophisticated workarounds — rigid routines, over-preparation, hyper-focus. These adaptations are effective enough that standard screening tools can miss the underlying picture entirely.

Life stage changes reduce the effectiveness of those strategies

Parenthood, career demands, burnout, or health changes often erode compensation mechanisms that functioned well for years. Many adults seek assessment when their existing strategies stop working.

A formal diagnosis opens concrete next steps

Without a documented clinical assessment, accessing reasonable adjustments at work, a GP referral to psychiatry, or appropriate support becomes significantly harder. A structured report creates those pathways.

Fit Criteria

Is this assessment right for you?

We want you to book when it makes sense — and not book when it doesn't.

This assessment suits you if...

  • You're 18 or over and suspect ADHD has been affecting your functioning for most of your life
  • You've never received a formal ADHD assessment, or a previous one was inconclusive
  • You need documented evidence for your employer, GP, or a specialist referral
  • You have significant anxiety, burnout, or a trauma history that may be masking or intersecting with ADHD
  • You want to understand your cognitive profile rather than simply confirm or rule out a label
  • You're able to attend a 90–120 minute video session and complete questionnaires beforehand

This is not the right pathway if...

  • You are under 18 — see our children's assessment pathway
  • You're currently in acute psychiatric crisis — please reach out to your GP or crisis services first
  • You've already received a formal ADHD diagnosis and are seeking medication management — we do not prescribe
  • You primarily need a second opinion on an existing diagnosis without a full re-assessment
  • You're looking for a general therapy service rather than a structured diagnostic assessment

Why Specialised?

Why not a standard assessment?

Our standard clinical assessment (€350–€520) covers a wide range of conditions. ADHD in adults requires a different protocol — here's why.

Our Approach

What tools do we use — and why?

We use a combination of structured clinical interviews and standardised evaluation tools. Each tool serves a specific purpose — together, they give us a complete picture rather than a snapshot. We don't diagnose based on conversation alone.

Interview

Clinical Diagnostic Interview (DIVA-5 based)

A structured interview format designed specifically for adult ADHD. Covers current symptoms and childhood history across multiple domains.

Questionnaire

Adult Symptom Self-Report Scale (ASRS)

A validated self-report questionnaire that screens for ADHD symptoms in adults across inattention and hyperactivity-impulsivity.

History

Childhood Symptom Retrospective (WURS)

A structured way to evaluate symptoms that were present during childhood — critical for establishing that ADHD has been present across the lifespan.

Interview

Functional Impact Review

An interview component that assesses how symptoms affect daily life — work, relationships, self-management, and emotional regulation.

Objective TestTier 2 only

Computer-Based Attention & Response Test

An objective, performance-based measure of sustained attention, impulsivity, and activity level. Provides data that complements the clinical interview.

CollateralTier 2 only

Informant Interview (Partner or Family Member)

A brief structured interview with someone who knows you well. Helps us understand how symptoms present in daily contexts from an external perspective.

Comorbidities

ADHD rarely presents alone

ADHD in adults frequently co-occurs with other conditions. Our assessment is designed to identify these overlaps and distinguish between them.

Anxiety

Anxiety and ADHD share overlapping symptoms — restlessness, difficulty concentrating, avoidance. Our assessment protocol distinguishes between anxiety-driven and ADHD-driven presentations.

Anxiety assessment →

Trauma & PTSD

Complex trauma and ADHD frequently co-occur. Hypervigilance can mimic inattention, and emotional dysregulation appears in both. We assess for both simultaneously.

PTSD information →

Autism Spectrum (ASD)

ADHD and ASD share several diagnostic criteria — executive function difficulties, sensory sensitivities, social communication differences. A concurrent assessment can clarify both.

After Your Assessment

What happens after you receive the report

Your report includes a clear conclusion and specific next steps for each possible outcome.

ADHD diagnosis confirmed

If the assessment confirms ADHD, your report provides a clear foundation for the next steps — whether that's medication, workplace support, or therapy.

Share GP letter for referral to psychiatry

Begin structured support — therapy or coaching

ADHD not confirmed at this time

If the assessment does not confirm ADHD, the report explains what was found instead — and what to do with that information.

Differential or complex picture

Sometimes the picture is more nuanced — overlapping conditions, partial presentations, or emerging patterns. Your report explains exactly what was found.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about ADHD assessment

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition, which means symptoms must have been present during childhood — even if they were never identified or documented. Our assessment includes a detailed retrospective interview that reconstructs your childhood experience. School reports or parental records can be helpful but are not strictly required.

Not negatively. Anxiety and ADHD frequently co-occur, and their symptoms can overlap considerably. Our assessment is specifically designed to distinguish between anxiety-driven and ADHD-driven patterns. We assess both simultaneously rather than treating them as mutually exclusive.

Yes. The report is a formal clinical document produced by a qualified clinician. The optional employer letter is written specifically for HR departments and references the UK Equality Act 2010 and EU employment directives. It specifies the diagnosis and recommends concrete reasonable adjustments.

Tier 1 includes a comprehensive clinical interview, standardised questionnaires, and a full written report. Tier 2 adds an objective computerised attention test, a collateral interview with someone close to you, and an extended report with a detailed cognitive profile. Choose Tier 2 if your presentation is complex, a previous assessment was inconclusive, or you need workplace accommodation documentation.

The report can support a referral to a prescribing psychiatrist. It provides the clinical evidence and diagnostic rationale that psychiatrists typically require before considering medication. We do not prescribe medication ourselves — this is a diagnostic assessment service.

Absolutely. Inconclusive results are relatively common, especially when the original assessment didn't use ADHD-specific protocols or didn't account for compensation strategies. We recommend Tier 2 in this case, as the additional testing and collateral interview can often clarify what a shorter assessment couldn't.

Yes — you'll receive standardised questionnaires by email 48 hours before your session. Please complete and return them before your appointment. Beyond that, no special preparation is needed. Just find a quiet, private space with a stable internet connection.

We currently offer assessments in English and Russian. All clinical tools and questionnaires are available in both languages. The written report can also be produced in either language.
